U18S THROUGH AFTER PENALTY DRAMA

Posted on: Wed 18 Nov 2009

Richard Dobson's youth team will face Watford in the FA Youth Cup Third Round at Vicarage Road on Wednesday 2nd December, after a dramatic penalty shoot out win over St Albans.

The Wanderers took the lead on five minutes courtesy of Tom O'Regan, only to see the home side equalise in the final stages of the game.

St Albans then went ahead in extra-time before a last gasp Matt McClure goal forced the game to a penalty shoot out.

The Blues went on to win the battle from 12 yards, converting four of their spot kicks compared to St Albans' two. Dobson's young side can now look forward to a trip to the home of Championship side Watford, in what will no doubt be another thrilling encounter.

Wanderers: Ingram, Graham, Saku, Stewart, Styles, Harris, O'Regan, Wallace, Belcher, Scowen, McClure.

Subs: Raphael, Ware, Grayley, Palladino, Federico.
