Wycombe Wanderers U18's managed an ever satisfying double over Colchester United on Saturday, when they mimicked the first team with a hard fought 1-0 victory in Essex.

The on-form Daniel Fitchett scored the winning goal just before the break, following up from his match winning performance against Brighton for the reserves a week previously.

The Blues had to make do without manager Richard Dobson, who is on paternity leave following the birth of his son Harrison George.

The Chairboys pressed the U's all over the pitch but had to defend resiliently against Colchester's direct style of play.

Youth Development Officer Gary Karsa said: "It was a horrible day to be playing football, it was a difficult pitch to play on and conditions were poor.

We learnt our lessons from the defeat to Peterborough the week before and for a young side played some pretty good football."

The youth side travel to Brighton next weekend to play their Puma Youth Alliance Cup Quarter Final game.
