WYCOMBE WANDERERS U18 (2)4 ROSENBORG (2)2
By Dale Hurman

After the youngsters opening game defeat against Tromsø, the Blues U18s have bounced back in tremendous style to beat Rosenborg 4-2.
Rosenborg won their opening game of the Junior Elite Tournament (JET) against Stabæk 3-0, so the Blues Under 18s were looking for victory to give themselves a chance of progressing into the knock-out stages.
The boys had another light training session on Tuesday morning. That was followed by lunch before they travelled to the ground. The weather in Hamar had turned to torrential rain which lasted throughout the match.
James Reading started in goal, replacing Adam Holloway with David Reading coming in for Elliott Brathwaite. Daniel Flitchett began up front with George Daley moving into midfield to replace Matt Phillips.
The boys started in great fashion taking the lead within five minutes, a lovely passing move was finished off by Daniel Flitchett. However with three minutes the Norwegians drew level through Michael Karlsen and they were soon in front, Markus Henriksen putting Rosenborg 2-1 up on ten minutes.
The Blues' fought back strongly and equalised with 12 minutes of the first half remaining. Another excellent move was given the end it deserved with Craig Read finding the net and the first half ended 2-2.
The second half started with the Blues taking the game to their illustrious opponents. Just after the hour mark Scott Shulton scored to put the Wanderers 3-2 up and with quarter of an hour to go Tom O'Regan made it 4-2 to ensure the youngsters picked up their first win in the tournament.
With the confidence from such an unlikely win, will go into the last game with real hope of making the Quarter-Finals.
