Head of Youth Richard Dobson has moved to praise the second year scholars at the club, after decisions were made over the youngsters' professional contracts.
Strike duo Daniel Fitchett and George Daly both netted one-year pro-deals with the Wanderers, but 'keeper James Reading, Jordan Lumsden, David Pearce and Craig Read missed out.
'Fitch' and Daly follow in the footsteps of fellow youngster Matty Phillips, who signed a two-year pro-deal in March.
'Dobbo' told wwfc.com: "Their (Dan Fitchett and George Daly) performances in the reserves has seen them get pro deals.
"It's important the players are capable of stepping up from youth to reserve team level. I think the second year scholars can hold their heads up high, including those who unfortunately weren't retained."
Coming up on wwfc.com: Pietro Palladino receives more recognition.
