The reserves lost 1-0 at Norwich City on Tuesday afternoon in their final game of the Totesport Combination East Division season.
George Francomb's second-half penalty after a foul by Simon Cox was enough to separate the sides at Carrow Road, in a game which featured an array of trialists alongside first-team squad members Matt Harrold, Ian Westlake and Stuart Green.
The Canaries enjoyed the better of the opening period and twice came closest to opening the scoring, although at the other end, Harrold was denied a penalty despite being brought down by the keeper.
Richard Dobson's side posed more of a threat in the second half and created chances through Jerome Federico and Harrold, before Francomb's penalty put the home side in front.
Wycombe almost grabbed a late equaliser through Stuart Green, but the midfielder's 20-yard drive hit the post and Dobson was left to rue the Blues' lack of a clinical edge in front of goal:
"It took us a while to get to grips with their shape and we allowed them to dominate possession," he said. "But we asked more questions in second half and had more chances than them; unfortunately we just lacked composure in front of goal and paid the price with the penalty."
Wanderers: Arnold; Green, Spence, Cox, Raccine; Pell, Westlake, Dunford (Scowen 85), Federico; Clifton (Harris 60), Harrold (Fitchett 55). Subs not used: Kewley-Graham.
