REPORT: RESSIES HELD BY POSH

Posted on: Thu 25 Mar 2010

Wanderers' high-flying reserve side were held to a goalless draw away at Peterborough United on Wednesday afternoon.

The point closes the gap on league leaders Ipswich Town to four points but, crucially, the Blues still have three games in hand on the Tractor Boys.

Peterborough's Danny Mills was the first to threaten but he skied a close range effort over Scott Shearer's bar before Matt Phillips fired wide from 12 yards after leaving two Posh defenders trailing in his wake.

Trialist Ishmail Fodayi-Kamara also threatened on a couple of occasions but, in truth, chances were at a premium in the first half.

The second 45 was much like the first but Wycombe were the side looking the more likely to collect the three points.

Firstly, Lewis Montrose saw a fiercely struck shot come back off the upright before Posh keeper James McKeown was forced into a superb save late on to deny Lewwis Spence's header finding the back of the net.

Wycombe: Shearer, Saku, Spence, Stewart, Green, Bloomfield, Montrose, Phillips, Harris (Federico 70), Fayodi-Kamara (Belcher 65), Revell (Fitchett 50).

Unused subs: Brennan.
