Goals from Chris Zebroski and Ian Westlake extended the Wanderers' unbeaten start to the season to six games on Tuesday afternoon.
Richard Dobson's reserve team ran out 2-0 winners against Northampton at Sixfields, in a game featuring a number of first team faces. Jamie Young, John Mousinho, Luke Oliver, Chris Westwood, Lewis Montrose, Ian Westlake and Chris Zebroski all started for the Blues.
The first Wanderers goal was supplied by 'Zebs' on 35 minutes. After beating the offside trap, the Chairboys' winger coolly slotted the ball home past Northampton 'keeper Simon Brown.
Brown was forced into action once again on 41 minutes, doing well to divert Wycombe youngster Kadeem Harris' shot away from goal.
The lead was finally doubled on 66 minutes thanks to former Leeds United man Ian Westlake, as the midfielder did well to divert Lewwis Spence's cross-shot into the net.
Despite their best efforts, Northampton failed to rally a response and Jamie Young was able to keep a clean sheet. However, Wycombe continued to press for a third, with John Mousinho coming close via a deflected effort and Luke Oliver side-footing just wide.
Wanderers: Young, Mousinho, Westwood, Oliver, O'Regan, Harris, Montrose, Westlake, Spence, Fitchett, Zebroski.
Cobblers: Brown, Ruddock, Gilbert, Dyer, Kanyuka, McCready, Costa, Jacobs, Mulligan, Benjamin, McKay.
