RESSIES HELD BY POSH

Wycombe Wanderers' second string were held to a 0-0 draw away at Peterborough United in their latest Totesport Football Combination East Division fixture on Wednesday afternoon.

Neither side created many chances throughout the 90 minutes with the best effort, a shot from Posh midfielder Dominic Green, easily saved by Blues keeper Jamie Young in the first half.

Nathan Ashton notched up the Wanderers' best chance in the last 15 minutes but he couldn't quite direct his free-kick on target from the edge of the 18-yard box.

More promising news about Matt Bloomfield now, the midfielder played 80 minutes in the game at London Road before being replaced by Jordan Lumsden, the scorer of the U18s' goal in their 2-1 defeat to Leyton Orient last night, and Junior Lewis was delighted to see 'Blooms' get so long on the pitch.

He said: "He did well and his performances will improve as he gets fitter. It was great to see him get 80 minutes as he wasn't initially going to have that long."
