SECOND STRING FALL TO SOUTHEND

The Blues went down 4-1 to Southend United in their first home Pontin's Holiday Combination fixture of the new season, played at Marlow's Oak Tree Road Ground.
Goals from Johnny Heard, James Walker and a double from Damien Scannell ensured the Shrimpers took all three points back to Essex -with Magno Vieira's well taken first half strike acting just as a consolation.
The watching Peter Taylor would have been more concerned the two injuries his side picked up, with Robbie Rice limping off in the first five minutes and Derek Duncan pulling up with a calf injury late on - forcing the Blues to finish the game with ten men.
The Wanderers pushed hard in the last twenty minutes looking for a way back into the game, but United's defence was resolute and in the end there was only one winner.
