Tommy Doherty played 75 minutes as the Wanderers cruised past Thatcham to reach the next round of the Berks and Bucks cup.
Wycombe ran out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from John Sutton and a superb strike from Lewis Christon.
It was the Chairboys who came quicker out the blocks, taking the lead with just two minutes on the clock.
Reuben Reid used his pace down the right hand side of midfield, before sending in a good cross to John Sutton who drove home from close range.
The returning 'Doc' showed flashes of his undoubted talent - forcing a save from the Thatcham keeper' with a stinging shot from distance.

The home side squandered their best chance of the night when Wycombe keeper James Reading saw an effort onto the post - and were to be punished - when Wycombe extended their lead in spectacular fashion.
Young centre-back Lewis Christon rifled in a half volley from all of 25 yards - which rasped into the back of the net to make it 2-0.
The youngster will be pushing hard for a starting spot in the absence of David McCracken, and efforts like that will do him no harm.
Wycombe have been drawn away to Didcot Town in the next round of the competition - keep checking wwfc.com for details - and look out as captain David McCracken speaks to Wanderers World later this morning.
