RESERVES EDGED BY EAGLES
A battling Wanderers reserves side went down 2-1 to Crystal Palace on Tuesday night.
The match was played at Bromley F.C's Hayes Lane ground, where the Wanderers put out another extremely youthful side.
Striker Chidi Obuagu, who has scored three goals in two games for the U18 side, made the step up to the second string squad - accompanied by six other youth team members.
The Chairboys dominated the game throughout, and not for the first time this season would have felt aggrieved not to come out on top against an Eagles side captained by one time Wanderer - Tony Craig.
After falling behind early on, the Blues came back strongly with a well-taken equaliser from Reuben Reid.
The parity did not last long however - as Palace went ahead again a few minutes before the break.
It could have been much worse for the Chairboys, as the home side were gifted a some what dubious penalty on the stroke of half time.
Justice was some what served however - as the resulting spot kick struck the post and ran out of play.
The Blues players still had time to feel aggrieved- as towards the end of a highly impressive second half display substitute George Daly was felled in the area.
Referee Mr J Hopkin refused to point to the spot this time; instead booking Daly for diving.
The match ended 2-1 to the Eagles - but the experience gained by some of the younger members of the team will be invaluable, especially in the face of such a promising performance.
