The Wanderers second string defeated Millwall to bag their first win of the season in the Pontin's Holidays League.

In an entertaining affair at the Den, Jermaine Easter marked his return in a Blues shirt by firing the Blues ahead on the half hour mark.

'Jemma' cracked a low stinging shot past Lenny Pidgeley - before going on to hit the post and see a goal ruled out for offside later in the half.

The performance will be a step in the right direction for the Welsh international, who has courted much publicized controversy in recent weeks.

The Blues found themselves two goals to the good ten minutes after the break, as Reuben Reid continued his push for first team action.

The Plymouth front man played a big part in the Chairboys' third goal in Saturday's win over Grimsby, and finished his strike with aplomb on Tuesday afternoon.

His dipping shot was too much for Millwall keeper Lenny Pidgeley, as it curled just inside the far post.

The moment of the game was to be reserved for a returning Lion though, as Zak Whitbread pulled a goal back for the home side in extraordinary fashion.

On his comeback form injury, Whitbread picked up the ball well inside his own half - and from sixty yards sent a 'Beckhamesque' effort over Kazimierczak into the netting.

This was as good as it got for Millwall though, as an impressive showing from the Wanderers reserves continued until the final whistle.

Jermaine Easter was again denied by a fine save from Pidgeley, before the linesman's flag came to the Lions' rescue once more - denying Daniel Fitchett a substitute goal.

Boosted by this performance, the second string will visit Crystal Palace next Wednesday in their next Pontin's fixture.
