Wanderers narrowly lost their Pontin's Holiday Combination fixture in damp conditions at home to Q.P.R on Wednesday afternoon.
The Chairboys dominated the majority of the game, but one defensive error gifted the Hoops the match midway through the first half.
After just two minutes the Chairboys took the initiative, as Derek Duncan controlled a long ball well - before driving to the edge of the area and forcing a stumbling save from Jake Cole in the Rangers goal.
With fine minutes gone, a beautiful ball from Scott Shulton seemed to put Calum Botham through on goal.
Cole was quick to rush out from his goalmouth, but didn't compensate for the wet surface - and ended up sliding outside the area and handling the ball at Botham's feet.
The linesman spotted the infringement, but referee Mr Crieighton decided not to punish the keeper' any further - awarding just a free kick on the edge of the box.
Duncan then wasted the chance with a poor set piece that failed to beat the Rangers defensive wall.
Q.P.R took the lead however on the fifteen minute mark. Lewis Christon gave the ball away badly to Kieron St. Aimie.
The Rangers youngster did extremely well to race from his own half and outstrip Andre Boucaud for pace, before finishing brilliantly passed the outstretched Kazimierczak.
It was a superb strike by the forward - but the Blues will be disappointed by the manner in which they conceded possession.
With twenty three minutes gone the Hoops came close again, with Marcus Bignot's great run and cross only evading Baidoo by inches as he rushed into the six yard box.
On the half hour mark Matthew Phillips beat Bignot for pace on the outside before firing in a superb dipping cross, that Duncan could only meekly head wide.
With just a few minutes remaining of the first period, Baidoo combined well with St. Aimie on the edge of the area but was shepherded well by Antwi - and could only tap the ball wide of Kazimierczak's post.
Calum Botham finished the half well for the Blues, showing great strength to win the ball on the half way line and drive passed two markers to the byline.
His cross was a good one, but there were no Wycombe players in the box to finish it off.
Five minutes into the second half Calum Botham tested Jake Cole with a snap volley from around 15 yards out.
Reuben Reid made the chance with a skillful dash into the area, with the ball eventually bouncing up to the prolific Botham who couldn't quite take the difficult chance.
Reid was again in the thick of the action fifteen minutes into the second period, showing great technique on the edge of the area before sending a swerving strike that was gathered easily into arms of Jake Cole.
70 minutes in and Wycombe really should have drawn level.
Will Antwi did well to win the ball and send Derek Duncan on a marauding run down the left hand side. He showed could pace and put in an inch perfect cross to the far post, for an on rushing Reuben Reid.
The on loan Plymouth man could not grab the equalizer though, as he headed poorly over the bar.
Minutes later Scott Shulton released Reid on the edge of the area, who did well to just keep the ball in play by the touchline before sending a bullet cross towards Botham on the six yard box.
It was a tough ask to react in such a short time for Calum though, and the ball rebounded off his knee and over the bar.
On the 82 minute mark Matthew Phillips again showed power and pace on the right hand side, and his teasing cross caused Botham to bravely challenge the on rushing keeper'.
Had the cross been a few inches wider then perhaps the ball would have ended up in the net, but as it was Cole managed to scramble the ball out of the area.
There was to be no respite for the man between the sticks though, as Shulton found space on the edge of the six yard box before rifling a shot towards goal.
There were shouts for hand ball from all around the ground as it look to have struck Shimmin on the wrist, but referee Mr Creighton waved play on.
The golden chance of the game arrived in the very last minute, and it fell to Scott Shulton.
Yet again it was Matt Phillips on the right hand side who swung in a great ball - which eventually fell to Scott just six yards out.
With the goalkeeper nowhere and the goal gaping, Shulton failed to make contact and the chance to save a point was gone.
With that the referee brought proceedings to a close. It was a good performance from a extremely young Wanderers side, and the fact that they only lost the game due to one lapse of concentration will be a strong learning curb for the side.
The next fixture in the Pontin's Holiday Combination is away to Millwall on Tuesday 23rd October.
