Barnet-born McGleish made his name with his hometown club after spells with Charlton, Peterborough and Leyton Orient before moving to Colchester United in 2001.

A free transfer move to Northampton Town in the summer of 2004 saw him enhance his reputation as one of the country's most lethal lower league forwards, but he was transfer listed two years later and moved to Adams Park in January 2007.

The 2007/08 campaign saw the veteran striker break his and the club's records by scoring 26 times in one season, finishing second in the division's scoring charts.

However the front man hasn't found it so easy in front of goal this term, and following a spell of three goals in 12 games to start the season, McGleish returned to Northampton on-loan, adding a further two goals in his time with the Cobblers.

The 34-year-old has now come back to Adams Park and is looking to try and recapture his form of a year ago.
