David began his career at Dundee United, working his way through the youth and reserve teams before making his first team debut in May 2000.
The tall defender soon became a regular in the SPL side, making over 200 appearances in seven years before being released at the end of the 2006/07 season.
Paul Lambert signed the Glasgow-born centre-back on a two-year deal in June 2007 and swiftly appointed him as club captain, and McCracken went on to make almost 40 appearances in his debut season.
This was followed by another typically talismanic campaign as the Chairboys secured promotion to League One in 2009, with 'Cracks' notching his second goal for the club in the dramatic final day defeat to Notts County.
