Frank Fielding, 19, is a young goalkeeper who joined the Blues on a three-month (93 day) loan on 28th September 2007 from Blackburn Rovers.
A former captain of the under-18 side at Ewood Park, Frank was a regular between the posts for Blackburn Rovers' reserve side throughout the 2006/07 season, and some impressive displays led to the youngster representing England at under-19 level.
Frank made his debut at Bradford City on 29th September 2007 and kept a clean sheet in 1-0 win, before going on to save penalties in matches at Wrexham and Darlington. It didn't take long for the youngster known as 'Brad' to become a firm favourite with the Blues supporters, and the keeper even kept former Scotland international Rab Douglas out of the side from October to January.
The Blues extended Frank's loan deal with the club until the end of the season in January and this was then extended throughout the play-offs, which came as a huge boost to Paul Lambert's side.
As a youngster, Fielding attended the Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School in Blackburn - the school where former Blackburn striker James Beattie and Motherwell forward Chris Porter were educated.
