REPORT: BLUES BOOK FINAL SPOT
An injury-time goal from Anthony Stewart booked the Blues' place in the Berks & Bucks Cup final.
The centre-back rose highest to head home Sam Belcher's corner and see off Slough Town 1-0 at Beaconsfield Sycob FC.
After a slow start, Wanderers soon began to stamp their authority on proceedings and created the first opening of the tie on six minutes. Neat play down the right-hand side between Jerome Federico and Lewis Hunt set up Dan Fitchett, whose shot deflected behind for a corner.
The lively striker was again involved on 15 minutes, this time showing a clean pair of heels to his marker before being hauled to the ground as he entered the penalty area. The referee wrongly waved away the protests.
At the other end, Steve Arnold was called into action twice in as many minutes, firstly pushing over a strike from the edge of the box before smartly tipping a low drive round his near post.
Richard Dobson's men should have taken the lead just before the half hour mark but Simon Cox couldn't pick out a team-mate after heading Kadeem Harris' deep cross back across the face of goal.
Slough wasted no time in their search for the opener at the start of the second half but Arnold was alert to thwart a sweetly struck volley from the Rebels' no.7.
The home side were growing in confidence without creating any clear cut opportunities.
And substitute Tom O'Regan nearly made them pay with a stinging shot from 20 yards which had to be carefully watched by Slough's keeper.
Wanderers were looking dangerous on the counter-attack and O'Regan should have put them ahead on 77 minutes. Fitchett's nicely waited reverse pass set the winger free but, with only the keeper to beat, he fired over the bar from 15 yards.
Provider nearly turned goalscorer minutes later but Slough's stopper tipped Fitchett's close range effort round the post after a smart run and cross from Federico.
But as the game looked destined for extra-time, Anthony Stewart headed home Sam Belcher's corner to book the Blues' place in the B&B final.
