Fast. Frantic. Frustrating. Three words that best describe a costly loss for Wanderers at Brisbane Road.

Not for the first time the Blues dominated the opening 45 minutes of the game against their promotion rivals. Not for the first time are we here reflecting on the lack of reward for their efforts.

After Paul Connor had put Leyton Orient ahead against the run of play on 8 minutes you still got the feeling that Wycombe would rally and get themselves back into a contest that didn't stop it's upbeat tempo from the first kick to the last.

Neither did the travelling fans. If John Gorman and the boys ever wanted support then they got it today. A 1252 contingent of Blues followers never enjoyed a momenyt's silence throughout the entire ninety minutes and for that they can be proud.

It's just a shame their cheers weren't greeted with a goal, or at least a point.

Chances came and went for Wycombe on an extremely bobbly surface that didn't make life easy for wither side. Passes were occasionally misplaced and players were forced to take one touch rather than two.

Glenn Morris had to make saves from Danny Senda, Matt Bloomfield and Tommy Mooney in the second half but apart from that the keeper was rarely called into action as Wanderers enjoyed possession but a lack of cutting edge.

Towards the end of the match when a final ball was called for it went astray and despite chucking both Charlie Griffin and Jermaine Easter on with fifteen minutes remaining neither were able to muster an effort on goal.

Wanderers pushed everything forward but Orient defended gallantly and now leapfrog their opponents to occupy an automatic spot.

It's a bitter pill to swallow for John Gorman's men but one they'll digest and with Bristol Rovers up next week they now have a challenge that they'll no doubt relish.
