Wanderers travel to Bournemouth this coming Saturday, looking to put the disappointment of last weekend's defeat to Grimsby behind them as well as aiming to notch up their first double of the campaign.
The 1-0 loss to the Mariners at Adams Park was only the Blues' second league defeat of the season and Peter Taylor's men can take confidence from the fact they haven't been beaten twice in a row from their opening 30 games.
The Blues were on a five-game unbeaten run, which included wins over promotion rivals Shrewsbury and Bury, before losing to Mike Newell's side last weekend, but despite the defeat the Wanderers still sit six points clear at the top of League Two.
Last time out Wycombe comfortably overcame the Cherries 3-1 at Adams Park in October, thanks to goals from Matt Harrold, Chris Zebroski and Scott McGleish and the trio could be in line to start in attack again this Saturday after linking up against Grimsby.
Ahead of the game Peter Taylor said: "We must make sure we don't drop our standard like we did against Grimsby. We want to play better than Bournemouth and if we do that then I fancy our chances."
While midfielder Matt Bloomfield knows the Blues can't take Bournemouth for granted despite their lowly position.
He said: "You can't take any game in this league easy, everyone can beat everyone else. Last week's result was disappointing but there is a long way to go, a lot of points to play for and we're in a good position."
New Cherries boss Eddie Howe, who played for Taylor at England U21 level, will complete the deal to bring Steve Fletcher back to the club before Saturday's game and he is delighted to have got his man.
He told
The Daily Echo: "He's going to be a real threat in the box aerially. He's going to be a leader in the dressing room, added to the ones we've already got, which will be a real help."
While new boy Fletcher had this to say ahead of the clash with the Wanderers: "I know it's an old quotation but every game is a cup final. We've got to claw back 10 points.
"People outside looking in think it's impossible but greater things and weirder things have been done in the past. We don't want the gap to grow and I'm sure it won't. We've got to start now."

Last Time Out:
Goals from strike trio Scott McGleish, Matt Harrold and Chris Zebroski ensured the Blues ran out 3-1 winners at Adams Park in October.
Top scorer Harrold opened the scoring on 40 minutes before Danny Hollands drew the visitors level just ahead of the hour mark, but goals from Zebroski and McGleish in the remaining 30 minutes meant the Blues returned to the top of League Two.
