The Game: Wycombe Wanderers v AFC Bournemouth
The Date: Saturday 3rd October, 3:00pm
The Place: Adams Park, High Wycombe
The Competition: Coca Cola League Two

Still unbeaten, an astonishing defensive record and joint top of League Two, the Blues will surely go into Saturday's clash with Bournemouth in high spirits.

However the visitors lowly league position is somewhat misleading, as the Cherries were forced to start the season on - 17 points.

They have shown impressive fighting spirit to reduce that deficit by eleven points,  as new manager Jimmy Quinn looks to turn the Cherries around.

The come fresh off the back of 3-1 victory over Darlington last week, and have not been defeated since the beginning of September.

Peter Taylor told wwfc.com this week: "I'm pleased for everybody. The most important thing is we're working hard as a team, we've looked solid and the team working hard for each other is the reason why I think we've got the points we have.

Cherries midfielder Warren Cummings told the Bournemouth Echo: "The lads are in good spirits and looking forward to tomorrow. I looked at Wycombe's stats and think they've only conceded two goals in the league and none away from home - at any level that's a fantastic achievement so far It's going to be difficult for us to break them down. But we've got to gain confidence from the fact we've scored six goals in two games.

He even scored seven goals in an impressive international career, the well known being a stunning goal in the Three Lions' 2-0 World Cup victory over Columbia in 1998.

He joined the Cherries back in 2006 and was named club captain by Kevin Bond in in time for the 2007/08 season. He has recently signed a new contract that is due to keep him at Bournemouth until the ripe old age of 37.

Wanderers midfielder Lewwis Spence is looking forward to coming up against the ex-Portsmouth midfielder.

"I played against him in a reserves game and he was frightening on the day," he told wwfc.com.

"He is a very good player and it will be a good test for me and the rest of the midfielder when we come up against him."

The Man in the Middle

Mr S.Attwell will take charge of a Football League fixture for the first time since he gave the 'goal that never was' in a fixture between Watford and Reading two weeks ago.

He last refereed the Wanderers in October 2007, as the Blues took on Shrewsbury at Adams Park. No yellow or red cards were shown on that occasion.

The Assistant Referees will be M Murphy and Mr A Watts
