MARTIN BRENNAN

Posted on: Thu 28 Jul 2011

Martin Brennan joined the Blues as goalkeeping coach in November 2008, helping to develop the club's keepers from first-team level right down to the centre of excellence.

Brennan began his playing career at Leyton Orient as an under 9 before joining Premiership side Tottenham Hotspur four years later, going on to sign YTS forms with the north London club.

He then moved across London to join Charlton, where he played in both the academy and reserve teams before leaving to play first-team football for Cambridge United.

His move to Welwyn Garden City in 2002 was accompanied by taking up his first coaching role at Leyton Orient as the club's academy coach, prior to a return to Tottenham to work alongside Hans Segers with the academy and reserve goalkeepers.

In Martin's first year with the club, the Blues kept 21 clean sheets as they won promotion to League 1 before repeating the trick two years later, recording 17 clean sheets under player of the year Nikki Bull.
