Wycombe Wanderers can confirm that first team physiotherapist Shay Connolly has left the club following tonight's pre-season friendly with a Chelsea XI.

Shay, who joined the Wanderers in 2004, is moving to Colombia to be with his new fiancée Cecy (Nolvis Cecilia Castrillo Santos).

He said: "I would like to express my thanks to everyone who I have worked with over the years at the club. As well as the staff, I've enjoyed a good relationship with the fans and I would also like to thank them for their support.

"I'm sad to be leaving at this time because I think with the current manager (Gary Waddock) in charge the club is going places. I'll be looking on with interest."

Everyone at Adams Park would like to thank Shay for the service he has given the club and wish him all the best for the future.

New head of medical and sports science Stuart Ayles will take on Shay's first team duties.
