McCOY SEALS SWITCH TO ADAMS PARK

Posted on: Tue 27 Jul 2010
Wanderers boss Gary Waddock has completed the signing of Marvin McCoy on a one-year deal following a successful trial with the club, wwfc.com can reveal.

The right-back arrives at Adams Park with a reputation as one of the hottest talents outside the Football League, having caught the eye of several professional clubs during his time with former club Wealdstone in the Ryman Premier League, winning both the Players' and Supporters' Player of the Season awards last year.

McCoy, 21, joined the Blues for pre-season training earlier this month and produced a series of impressive displays in the friendlies against Chesham, Hayes & Yeading and Brentford earlier this month, prompting Waddock to swoop for his signature.

After beginning his career as a trainee with Watford, McCoy dropped into non-league with Harrow Borough before moving to Wealdstone, and also held a part-time job in CCTV management in London.

As part of the deal which brings McCoy to Adams Park, Wycombe will take a team to Wealdstone for a pre-season friendly before the 2011/12 campaign.

Coming soon: wwfc.com catches up with Wanderers' latest recruit and hears the views of Gary Waddock as the start of the season draws ever nearer.
