After a 20-year playing career that saw him rise from the non-league circuit to the heights of scoring against Liverpool in the FA Cup semi-final, Wanderers legend Keith Ryan has gone back to where it all began.
Ryan, now 40, has teamed up with his brother Gary to establish a business in the carpet and flooring industry called Now Flooring, based in Wokingham. 'Rhino' takes up the story:
"When I left school I wasn't involved with a professional football club, I worked with my brother who was in the floor laying business.
"I enjoyed my football and began playing for Berkhamsted Town before joining Wycombe. I continued to lay floors and fit carpets until we got promoted into the Football League and I had the opportunity to become a full-time footballer.
"The flooring business is something that I know and I've been involved in. It helps that my brother has been in the business for over 30 years and has a fantastic reputation.
"We set up the business eight months ago and it's new, fresh and exciting. It's something I'm really looking forward to getting my teeth into."
Ryan, who made 517 appearances in the quarters, hopes his love affair with the Wanderers will help recruit more business.
"I know a lot of people in and around the Wycombe area because of my time at Adams Park," he said. "I've enjoyed chatting to them over the years and the more people that know what I'm getting into can only help in the future.
"We do a good job and we are committed to providing a good service at competitive prices. We pride ourselves on the job, the service and the advice we can offer customers."
