The club today issued the following statement regarding proposals for a new stadium: 'Wycombe Wanderers are very clear about the desire to improve facilities for supporters, players, staff, the community, and everyone else who has an interest.
In March - in conjunction with London Wasps - we announced a commitment to work together in partnership with Wycombe District Council to pursue a common vision for a new community stadium and associated sports facilities. It is an exciting vision and one which we believe will support an even stronger, more sustainable and more successful future.
An important part of the process is identifying the best site in Wycombe District - a site which enables the clubs to develop the quality and range of facilities that we believe will help us achieve success both on and off the pitch. At the same time, it is about finding a site which gives the clubs the platform to do even more work in the community, through our youth and community programmes and by becoming a more central part of community life.
On Monday (26 July 2010), members of Wycombe District Council will review important technical and feasibility work which has been carried out by the Planning and Sustainability Team within the Council. This will enable the Council to pursue an alteration to its core strategy which sets the framework for new development within the district and, subject to approval, to progress towards more detailed evaluation of potential sites for the new community stadium and associated facilities. It is an essential part of identifying the site that can best help us to achieve the vision.
The contribution the clubs already make to the district - and the potential to contribute even more - is recognised within the supporting documents produced by the Planning and Sustainability Team. This is a positive endorsement of the clubs' role in Wycombe life and was welcomed as such by club owner Steve Hayes (see his statement below).
The clubs are now focused on working with the Council and on developing the range of technical planning information which will be required to support the ongoing planning process.
We aim to keep everyone informed and more details will be published as the scheme progresses - and we reach the point where we can formally start seeking ideas on the best way to deliver the vision."

Steve Hayes' statement to welcome the positive recognition of the clubs' contribution to the community - issued on behalf of Wycombe Wanderers FC and London Wasps:
"Wycombe Wanderers and London Wasps are ambitious clubs looking to achieve more and to build a successful and sustainable future in
High Wycombe.
"We are delighted to see the benefits of the proposed new community stadium and associated sports facilities recognised within Wycombe District Council's 'Initial Community Needs and Benefits' study. Our partnership with the local authority, as announced in March, is based on working in a positive spirit of collaboration and in the interests of bringing forward our shared and exciting vision for the future of the clubs in Wycombe District.
"We believe that providing a new community stadium and associated sports development in Wycombe is an excellent and important step for the future of both clubs. It is something we are committed to for the benefit of our players, staff, supporters and the community in which we operate.
"We are delighted to see the far wider benefit of the scheme to the social and economic well being of the district recognised. Delivering our vision for the new stadium and related sports facilities is something we intend to do properly and in full consultation with the local authority, our supporters and all of the people who can help us to build an even more successful future."
