PRACTICE MATCH ENDS IN 3-3 DRAW

Posted on: Sat 10 Jul 2010
Wanderers kicked off their pre-season schedule with a 3-3 draw against Yeovil Town in a practice match behind closed doors on Saturday morning.

Manager Gary Waddock fielded virtually of all his first-team squad throughout the game and saw his side hold a 3-1 lead at half-time with a brace from Jon-Paul Pittman and one from Matt Phillips, who joins up with the England Under-19 squad on Monday morning.

But the Glovers hit back with goals from Sam Williams and Lloyd Matthews to add to Danny Hutchins' early opener, and Waddock said it was good to see his side gain match practice after two weeks of training:

"It was a good run-out for the boys and I think it was useful for them to play together in a match situation," he told wwfc.com. "They've been excellent in training and looked sharp in the game against Yeovil, so I'm happy with the progress we're making."

Wycombe's supporters will get their first chance to see the Blues in action when they travel to Chesham United on Tuesday evening (k.o. 7.45pm) - tickets are priced at £8 for adults, £5 for concessions and £2 for under-16s.
