BLUES GO DOWN WITH A FIGHT

Posted on: Sat 01 May 2010
Wycombe Wanderers will be playing League Two football next season after a 2-0 defeat to Leyton Orient sealed their relegation.

Ryan Jarvis and Scott McGleish's late goals won the points for Orient but in truth, results elsewhere suggested that even if Wycombe had won the game, it would have taken a minor miracle next weekend to win the battle for survival.

More to follow.

Gary Waddock named an unchanged starting XI for the fourth consecutive game:

Wycombe: Heaton, Mousinho, Woodman, Westwood (Harrold), Hunt, Ainsworth, Bloomfield, Montrose (Phillips), Betsy, Revell, Pittman (Beavon)
Subs: Arnold (GK), Oliver, Keates, McLeod.

Orient: Jones, Lichaj, Daniels, Chorley, Mkandawire, Smith, Chambers, Spicer (Demetriou), Thornton (Baker), McGleish, Jarvis.
Subs: Morris (GK), Purches, Ashworth, Scowcroft, Patulea.

Goal: Jarvis (77), McGleish (90+3)

Bookings: Thornton, Baker

Attendance: 5,918 (1,100 from Wycombe)
