A LUCKY 'WYNNE' FOR WYCOMBE?

Posted on: Fri 23 Apr 2010
Lucky socks, pre-match rituals, Comanche statues. Superstition can take many different forms, but when two Wanderers fans stumbled across an appropriately-named pub before the victory at MK Dons last weekend, they knew they were in for a stroke of good fortune.

Roland Dopson and his father Malcolm visited the 'Betsey Wynne' pub enroute to stadium:mk and later saw Kevin Betsy seal the win for the Blues with the last-kick of the game, prompting Roland to contact us to tell the tale.

And eleven years after an Indian statue named 'Comanche' was thought to be a lucky omen in the club's successful battle for survival, Roland reckons history could be repeating itself:

"We joked that the name could be an omen for the day's game, so I was in so much shock when King Kev popped up and scored the winner.

"After celebrating like mad, I could only sit open-mouthed at what I had just seen. It's our very own "Comanche moment" and we will be looking out for similar omens on our way to the last three games of the season, hoping for some more magic!"

wwfc.com would therefore like to urge supporters to visit the Heaton Arms in Peckham, the Blooms Hotel in Dublin or the Ainsworth Inn in Nashville over the course of the weekend!
