Stand-in skipper Gareth Ainsworth believes Kevin Betsy's last-gasp winner at MK Dons was indicative of the Blues' team spirit as they continue to battle for survival in League One.
Ainsworth took the captain's armband following Adam Hinshelwood's injury against Hartlepool last week, and after helping Wanderers to a third straight victory, he declared that his team-mates' desire to give their all for the club is paying dividends:
"We've got this never say-die-attitude and whereas the old Wycombe would get turned over, this is a new Wycombe and this is how we want it to be," he said. "We've got 25 squad members now who know you have to fight and scrap and give your last ounce of energy to play for Gary Waddock and his team.
"Our never-say-die attitude got us through the game and if we keep that up until the end of the season, we'll have a right chance. I for one will be making sure that everyone gives that," he added.
The 36-year-old also reserved special praise for Alex Revell, who grabbed a brace to make it four goals in two games for the on-loan Southend man, and Ainsworth believes the striker is leading by example:
"His work rate is phenomenal and the young lad has come in and run the show - when he does it, we all seem to follow suit.
"He's been really good for us and he was worried he wasn't scoring enough, so this is brilliant for him and he deserved his goals."
Ainsworth was at the forefront of some memorable celebrations at the final whistle and revealed that the feelgood factor continued in the dressing room after the game, with the Blues becoming more and more confident ahead of the visit of Swindon next week:
"We didn't need to say anything in the dressing room afterwards - the gaffer just said 'you deserve that, now go and enjoy it'. We've come here and won in the last minute, and Kevin Betsy is the hero of Buckinghamshire tonight!
"At this stage of the season we're dragging people closer, and now we've got to concentrate on Saturday. We've got Swindon coming to Wycombe Wanderers, which is turning into a fortress, and it's going to be a good game."
Coming soon: The good news keeps coming as Wanderers reveal a whole host of benefits for the 2010/11 season ticket packages.
