Waddock had challenged his side to improve at both ends of the pitch following successive defeats to Huddersfield and Walsall over the Easter weekend, and Hunt and Revell duly delivered after being thrust into first-team action.
Defender Hunt, who filled in admirably at centre-back after Adam Hinshelwood's early departure through injury, was thrilled to return to the scene after a spell on the sidelines:
"I enjoyed it and it's good to get back out on the pitch," he told the club's online TV service. "Football's the most frustrating thing when you're out of the team because you just want to be out there helping your mates, so it's nice to finally get out there and do my bit."

Meanwhile man-of-the-match Revell, who had previously struggled to find his feet following his move from Southend in January, revealed that he was pleased to be rewarded with a starting berth after an impressive display as a substitute at Walsall:
"I've been chomping at the bit to get back in," said the striker. "I thought I did well at Walsall when I came on and hopefully I proved today that I want to be here and that I want to play. Now I just need to get that goal."
Now the pair will shift their focus to the trip to Tranmere on Tuesday night in another match that the Blues need to win to keep alive their survival hopes, and Revell is certainly aware of the importance of the fixture:
"It's a massive massive game for us," he said. "We need to go there and get another three points, and play with the same commitment and desire as we did against Hartlepool. If we do that and teams around us lose, the gap is down to four points and it starts to look very different."
And Hunt believes he and his team-mates have learned a lesson from previous occasions where the Wanderers have under-performed in the match following a victory, and says it's time to put that frustration behind them:
"We've said it many times before that we need to build on a good result and between now and the end of the season, we need to be doing that. We're all desperate to do it and now is the time to start doing just that."
The pair were speaking exclusively to
