Gary Waddock was a happy man after seeing his side bounce back from the disappointing Easter weekend to record three points in superb fashion against Hartlepool.

Successive defeats to Huddersfield and Walsall left Wycombe needing a victory over the Durham outfit to resuscitate their League One survival hopes, and they delivered the win in style - much to Waddock's delight:
"The whole group played a part throughout the game and they've done extremely well," he said. "They responded very well from the game on Monday and I'm delighted for them and for the fans.
"We didn't start very well at Walsall and gave ourselves a mountain to climb, so the idea today was to start the game with a high tempo and be on the front foot. It worked, and we kept it going throughout the game," he added.
After the setback of the Easter weekend, the feelgood factor returned to Adams Park both in the stands and in the dressing room courtesy of the dominant performance against Chris Turner's men, and the Blues boss felt the victory was well-earned:
"With the amount of chances we had, and the way we played, it was a good performance," he said. "It makes a change to come in here with three points and a clean sheet, and that's credit to the players.
"It's understandable that nerves might come into the game but you've got to cope with that - the only way is to play your normal way and not be nervous. The lads were extremely determined to get that result and they deserved it today."
And the 'gaffer' was particularly pleased to see his side answer his midweek plea for a 'winning mentality', which he felt was evident from the first whistle to the last:
"There's a togetherness in there, even with the lads who aren't in the side - we're in this together. The only way to move forward is to have players who want to win games, and we've gone through a really hard time here but they're a good bunch of lads.
"It goes for the fans as well - they don't want to come and see their team get beaten. We want winners here but we'll do it in a certain way.
