DOBBO: "A MOMENT OF BRILLIANCE"

Posted on: Wed 10 Mar 2010
Richard Dobson has hailed Gareth Ainsworth's stunning strike in the reserves' 2-0 win over Watford on Monday night.

Ainsworth, making his first appearance since being sent off against Millwall, set the Blues on their way to victory with a majestic long range volley in the opening minutes of the second half.

"It was a stand out goal," 'Dobbo' told Chairboys Player. "To score a volley from 40 yards out was fantastic. It was a moment of brilliance in what was a good game."

The club's head of youth also moved to pay tribute to the professionalism of Ainsworth and his first team colleagues.

He said: "Their attitude in the reserves has been absolutely spot all season. They haven't thrown the towel in because they have been dropped to the reserves; they have come in and done it properly.

"Gareth Ainsworth opitimised that on Monday night. For someone who is 36 years old and has played in the Premier League, he played the game like he does every other.

"The commitment he showed rubbed off on every member of the team and it would have done the young players in the side the world of good."
