BOSS HAILS HINSHELWOOD

Posted on: Tue 09 Mar 2010

Gary Waddock praised Adam Hinshelwood for his debut display as Blues skipper.

'Hinsh' was handed the armband for Saturday's clash with Carlisle, and the centre-back repaid the faith shown in him by the Chairboys chief by collecting the man-of-the-match award.

He said: "It was a captain's performance (from Adam). He's done extremely well since he's been here and he showed again that he's a very determined player."

Hinshelwood replaced Craig Woodman, who had previously held the captaincy since early November.

Waddock said: "It wasn't a permanent appointment of Woody anyway - he's done well with it, but we want him to focus on his own game. Hinsh has been captain before at other clubs.

"Craig's not very vocal and he's a bit different to Hinsh in that he lets his performance lead by example. We need someone a bit more vocal and we'll get that from Hinsh."
