Centre-back Alan Bennett says that the Blues cannot afford to rest on the laurels after their weekend success over Millwall, and instead must work hard again to try and maintain their momentum when they take on Southampton at Adams Park tonight.
The man on-loan from Brentford made an imposing debut against the Lions at the heart of Wanderers' defence, yet the Republic of Ireland international knows that despite Saturday's dogged display, there is still plenty of room for improvement as the Chairboys head into another challenging game with the Saints.
"Absolutely not, we can't rest on our laurels; Southampton's going to be hard and we've got to come down now and think about what happened [against Millwall] and take the lessons from it," he told wwfc.com.
"I think we've just got to keep the ball a little bit more, maybe create more chances; these things make big differences."
That being said, the Blues can undoubtedly take plenty of confidence from their improved performances over the past ten days, having taken a combined four points from two tough fixtures against teams in the top half of the table.
Southampton could well be the most difficult of the three - especially as Alan Pardew's outfit come to Adams Park on the back of a very notable away win against league leaders Norwich.
However, Bennett believes that the grit and resolve inherent in the Chairboys' squad means that they are capable of springing another surprise against one of his former employers.
"The fighting spirit was there [against Millwall], it was shown pretty clearly; the determination was shown pretty clearly too," he said.
"If you have the two of those elements and you stick it in with a bit of skill, you never know what could happen."
Bennett and fellow emergency loan signing Julian Kelly have certainly impressed with their determination since joining the club last week and both could be in line for their second Wanderers starts against the South coast side, whilst keeper Tom Heaton - on-loan until the end of the season - should make his third appearance in a quartered shirt.
It is this freshness which Bennett deems to be a key factor behind the trio's seemingly immediate impact on the Blues' fortunes.
He said: "Me, Julian, Tom: Coming in we didn't really know what's happened before and we want to perform well.
"I suppose coming in without having the weight of what's happened before on you has helped; it [playing for Wycombe] has been fantastic."
