WADDOCK HAILS HAYES

Gary Waddock has paid tribute to club owner Steve Hayes for his backing during the January transfer window.

Hayes sanctioned deals for eight new signings last month and the 47-year-old was quick to acknowledge Steve's input.

Waddock told Chairboys Player: "It was a very busy time but I've got to say Steve Hayes was fantastic.

"The work that he did and the work that we did together took a lot of effort, but I would like to thank him for all his help and support for doing what he did to bring the players to the club."

Waddock also spoke of his delight at bringing in what he describes as "good players" at such a crucial stage of the season.

He said: "I personally think they are all good players - that's why we've brought them to the club. The new signings will add competition and that's all you want at a football club."
