DUBERRY DEPARTS

Posted on: Mon 01 Feb 2010
Wanderers have parted company with former Premier League defender Michael Duberry, who has left the club by mutual consent.

Duberry, who played at the highest level for Chelsea, Leeds and Reading, joined the Blues six months ago as ex-boss Peter Taylor's star summer signing. He was made team captain and played 19 games before losing his place to new signing Adam Hinshelwood.

Said manager Gary Waddock: "I'd like to wish Michael all the best for the future. Hopefully, he will be able to get his career up and running somewhere else.

"I respect Michael both as a player and as a person and he has always been thoroughly professional with his conduct, especially considering that he hasn't been playing in recent weeks."

Club owner Steve Hayes told wwfc.com: "I'd like to thank Michael for everything he contributed in his short time with us. He has a wonderful football pedigree and at the time he joined us everyone agreed that he'd be an excellent addition to the squad.

"He has acted like a true professional and I wish him well in his search for a new club."
