MCLEOD CHECKS IN

Posted on: Mon 01 Feb 2010

Gary Waddock has swooped to recruit the services of left-sided midfielder Kevin McLeod from Brighton & Hove Albion on a free transfer, wwfc.com can reveal.

McLeod - a product of the Everton Academy - has joined the Blues on a three-month contract until May 1.

After making seven first team appearances for his beloved Toffees, he joined Queens Park Rangers on loan in 2003, before the 'Hoops' paid a reported £250,000 to secure the player's services permanently.

After amassing 67 appearances over two years at Loftus Road, McLeod joined Swansea City for an undisclosed fee. The Liverpool native went on to find the net on seven occasions in his 44 appearances for the Welsh side.

His spell at Swansea was followed by a free transfer to Colchester United, where he spent two years before joining Sussex outfit Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 29-year-old endured a turbulent time on the south coast, spending much of his time waiting for his opportunity from the bench.

However, his move to Adams Park represents a fresh start for the midfielder who will be reunited with former QPR team-mate Gareth Ainsworth and Gary Waddock.

McLeod will wear the no. 28 shirt.
