Gary Waddock believes the fact the Blues have been in the bottom four for the majority of the season may give them an edge over their relegation rivals.
Waddock's men go into Saturday's clash with Bristol Rovers in 23rd position and eight points off safety.
But with sides at the bottom struggling to find any consistency, the 47-year-old says a winning streak would soon see the Wanderers' position improve.
Gary's full interviewTalking to
wwfc.com, he said: "Teams don't put three or four wins together, so if we can do that and pull the teams down with us then it's going to be a nervy time for a few clubs.
"We are in it so we know what we've got to do. There are a lot of games and a lot of points to play for."
Paul Trollope's play-off chasing Pirates stand in the way of the Blues' first win of 2010, but the Chairboys chief says his side will be in with a good chance of a victory at the Memorial Stadium if they perform like they have been doing since the turn of the year.
He said: "We've got to get that first win, but we know it's going to be difficult. I feel for the players, the fans and everyone at the club because the performances have been really good and we've not got our rewards.
"If they continue to play like they have been doing then it will change and we will pick up victories.
"The results will come. The lads have been consistent in their performances and we've created numerous chances but now we've got to be more ruthless and put the ball in the back of the net. That's the only way we are going to win games."
New recruit Alex Revell is available for the Wanderers' trip west and Waddock has revealed that the 26-year-old has been looking sharp in training.
He said: "If he can take his form on the training field into games then we'll have an extremely good player on our hands.
"We know he is a good footballer. He's a centre-forward and he wants to score goals."
