In the midst of the transfer frenzy that has dominated the headlines at Adams Park, we have some football to discuss - and the focus is very much now on the Blues' quest for points as they head to Southend on Saturday (k.o. 3pm).
Blues boss Gary Waddock promised changes after the miserable festive campaign, and he's delivered them. Dean Keates, Steve Arnold, Josh Payne and Alex Revell have this week followed Adam Hinshelwood and Kevin Betsy through the door at Adams Park, and with the exception of Revell, are all likely to feature in the squad for the trip to Roots Hall.
After three encouraging performances against the league's top three sides, the Wanderers know that picking up points is now of the utmost importance if they are to beat the drop, and they head east full of confidence to face a side who themselves have endured difficult times of late.
Rumoured financial troubles have taken their toll and top scorer Lee Barnard was this week sold to Southampton to ease the burden, whilst an indifferent run of form has seen them slip to 14th position - 13 points adrift of the play-offs and just three points above the drop zone.
However, Gary Waddock told Chairboys Player this week that he is only concerned with his side:
"We have to make sure we perform and as long as we do that, we'll give them a good game. We're up against it in every game we play because it's a difficult league, but the players are confident and we've shown in the last three games that we can compete. There's no reason why we can't do that on Saturday."
Team News:
Wycombe: New signings Dean Keates, Steve Arnold and Josh Payne are all likely to travel with the squad, although Alex Revell will have to wait another week to make his Wanderers debut. Matt Harrold, Kevin Betsy and Lewis Hunt all return to their former club, while there will be no Scott Davies after the youngster returned to Reading this week.
Southend: Steve Tilson has no new injury worries but could hand a debut to Matt Paterson, who arrived from Southampton as part of the deal which took Lee Barnard to the south coast. Defender Jean M'Voto remains sidelined with injury, while former Wycombe loanees Anthony Grant and Franck Moussa are expected to feature.
