WADDOCK: FANTASTIC FANS

Posted on: Mon 11 Jan 2010

Gary Waddock has paid tribute to the Wanderers supporters that made the journey to Elland Road for Saturday's clash with Leeds United.

The Blues boss labelled the 666-strong travelling contingent as "fantastic" after seeing his side deservedly hold the league leaders to a 1-1 draw.

Jon-Paul Pittman's stunning equaliser on 62 minutes sent the Chairboys faithful into raptures, and Waddock says the point was the least the fans deserved for making the 380-mile round trip from Buckinghamshire in very difficult travelling conditions.

He said: "For that many supporters to make the journey was terrific. They were fantastic again, and they've been brilliant since I came to the club.

"I'm sure they're pleased with the performance and after three minutes they probably thought 'here we go again', but they stuck with us again and hopefully they enjoyed the journey home."
