Blues striker Matt Harrold says he is looking forward to returning to Yeovil Town on Boxing Day and hopes the trip to Somerset can spark a run of victories for Gary Waddock's men.

The 25-year-old spent just over a year at Huish Park in 2005/06 and was a regular in the Glovers' starting line-up, but there will be little room for sentiment as the Wanderers look to build on the point earned against Oldham in Saturday's 2-2 draw.

"I don't know what kind of reception I'll get but I always liked it down there - I haven't been down there since I left but it'll be nice to go back.

"The point (against Oldham) keeps us nice and positive and now we're looking to go to Yeovil and put in a good performance. There's a five-point gap now so back-to-back wins would be important - the next two games will show us how our season's going to go and we'll be bang up for it."

Harrold netted from the spot in the draw with the Latics last weekend and although he admits he didn't perform to the standard he has set for himself, he understands that his chance to shine will come, particularly in the absence of fellow striker John Akinde, who faces a three-game suspension:

"I've got seven goals at the moment and should have had a few more. I haven't really been happy with the way I've been playing in the last couple of games but that's the way it goes - you can't always play well and score goals."

And the former Southend man will be enjoying a quiet Christmas with the family as he prepares for the trip west on Boxing Day:

"I'll spent it with the family and keep fit so that I keep ticking over," he said. "We've got two games in quick succession so we'll be professional and eat the right things because in the position we're in, we can't take chances - we always know what we need to do to stay in shape."
