STRICTLY COME DAVIES!

Posted on: Wed 09 Dec 2009

Blues loan star Scott Davies reckons he deserved top marks for his celebrations in the weekend win over Stockport County - and is now setting his sights on helping launch the Wanderers out of the bottom four over the next few weeks.

The midfielder provided the assist for Chris Westwood's equaliser in the 2-1 victory and celebrated in style with a forward flip over the goalscorer after Westwood had shown off his very own Klinsmann-esque dive:

"The lads gave Westie some stick for his celebration at Millwall so he dived towards me and I just flipped over him," said Davies. "I saw it again on TV and thought it was quite nice and well co-ordinated - I didn't plan it but I'll probably get full scores from the judges!"

Davies then stole the limelight with the winning goal over the Hatters and marked the moment with a special gesture for a family friend, before helping ensure that the Blues held on to a vital three points:

"My dad had a friend there who is disabled so I ran over to him and gave him a high five," he explained. "It was nice to score the winner - it got a deflection but that's the bit of luck we needed and it was massive to get the three points instead of just one."

The victory leaves Wycombe just four points adrift of safety and Davies is confident that the Blues can lift themselves out of the bottom four over the Christmas period:

"We'll be out it before long," he stated. "We aim to be out of it by Christmas and hopefully we'll get enough points out of the next few games and climb out of trouble.

"We're playing with a bit of confidence now and people are getting used to playing with each other. There's been a bit of change in the side, we're gelling together and hopefully it will continue."
