Gary Waddock makes two changes for today's clash with Exeter at St James' Park.

Tommy Doherty returns to the starting line-up after a three-month spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury. 

The 'Doc' will be joined in midfield by Matt Bloomfield, who is handed a starting spot after his impressive second half performance in the 1-1 draw with Colchester on Saturday.
