BLUES SHOW SUPPORT FOR NHS

Posted on: Tue 06 Oct 2009

The Blues joined forces with the Buckinghamshire NHS on Saturday to promote their 'No Smoking' campaign.

NHS Stop Smoking Services were celebrating their ten-year anniversary with a match sponsorship package for the Wanderers' weekend game with Leyton Orient.

But instead of enjoying the match in style for themselves, they offered their executive box to members of their highly successful project who have quit smoking.

However, they did take up the option of naming the Chairboys' man-of-the-match and they opted for forward Chris Zebroski(pictured right).

NHS also entered into the spirit of things pre-match and at half-time as deputy team leader Nicki Blyth dressed up as a cigarette and even managed to beat club mascot Bodger from the penalty spot.

Research shows that smokers are up to four times more likely to stop smoking successfully with NHS support. For more information on going smokefree call 0845 2707222, email stopsmoking@buckspct.nhs.uk or visit www.smokescape.org.
