The Wanderers face MK Dons on Saturday afternoon looking for a first ever league win over their Buckinghamshire rivals, in a derby given extra spice thanks to the return of former favourites David McCracken and Jermaine Easter.
Both return to HP12 for the first time since departing their former pay-masters, with Paul Ince taking on Peter Taylor eleven years after the duo worked together on England's World Cup campaign in 1998.
The two sides last clashed in the 2007/08 campaign, with a fiery 1-1 draw at Adams Park (a game which saw the visitors reduced to nine men) followed up with a dramatic 2-2 tie at stadiummk.
Milton Keynes will start this clash full of confidence after a televised 2-1 victory over Norwich on Monday evening, a result which pushed the Dons up to fifth place in League One.
The Blues will have felt aggrieved not to have taken all three points away from Victoria Park at the weekend, but increasingly promising performances have given fans some hope that their second home victory of the season is on the way.
Managers view:
Speaking to wwfc.com, Peter Taylor said: "It's going to be another good crowd and should be a cracking atmosphere. We know it's a local derby, it's another big game but we also know that we're improving every week and with a bit of luck, we'll get it right and win the match.
"Any side at this level are a good team but they also have weaknesses. We need to make sure that we concentrate on that to try and cause them more problems than they cause us."
Speaking to
mkdons.co.uk, Paul Ince said: "They'll be up for it so it's always going to tough game for us. Peter Taylor will have them ready, we've just got to make sure we're ready as well.
"It's a great game to be involved in, not just for the players and the management, but for the fans as well."
