Wycombe Wanderers will face Northampton Town at Adams Park in the first round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, to be played in the week commencing Monday 31st August.

The draw for the competition, which involves only clubs in Leagues One and Two, was made on the Sky Sports show Soccer AM this morning, with the Blues avoiding a potentially long trip in the south-west section of the draw.

Instead, Peter Taylor's men will host the recently-relegated Cobblers in the first week of September, four seasons after the last meetings between the two sides.

In the 2005/06 campaign, both league fixtures ended in draws but the men from Sixfields gained the upper hand in an FA Cup tie, winning 3-1 at Adams Park.

Peter Taylor's reaction to the draw will follow after today's League One clash with Leeds United.
