Peter Taylor has lavished praise on Wanderers centre half Luke Oliver, after the towering defender capped an impressive few weeks with an astute volleyed goal in the 2-1 defeat to Queens Park Rangers.
Oliver arrived at Adams Park from Stevenage Borough in January, beginning his second spell with the Blues after departing the Club five years earlier.
He made eight appearances in the quarters as the Chairboys went on to seal promotion to League One, but has recently caught the eye of many Blues fans after some rock solid pre-season performances.
"Luke Oliver has come back really well I'm very, very pleased with him," said Taylor.
"He knew at the end of last season that it wouldn't be easy to get straight into the team, but he's done some work over summer and he's looked very fit. I would have to say he's been the pick of our players in pre-season."

Standing Tall: Oliver has impressed during the Blues' pre-season schedule |
Standing at a lofty 6ft 7 and with impressive qualities on the ball, the Hammersmith native has always threatened to become one of the lower league's most impressive defensive players.
With the 27-year-old now showing the type of belief that had previously eluded him in his career, Taylor believes that it could be a vital season for the former Wycombe youth product.
"I've tried to get Luke to realise that I didn't sign him because he's a big, 6ft 7 nice bloke, I signed him because I thought he was good enough to be here and I don't think he believed that.
"I was trying to push him to come back in July and realise this is where he belongs. That's how he's been in pre-season and I think he's doing that."
