YOUNGY'S DEVON DIARIES

Posted on: Wed 15 Jul 2009

By Jamie Young

Hey everyone!

The media guys have asked me to keep an account of all the happenings while the team are away down in Devon.

For a start it was about a four hour journey down to Devon and after being locked up in that bus with the lads it can be a bit like a bunch of monkey's in a cage. After we arrived at the hotel we grabbed a bit of lunch before heading back to the rooms for a bit of rest before our game against Bideford. I won't lie I'd never heard of them so I didn't really know what to expect.

When travelling on away trips we are given a hotel room to share with a fellow team mate. My roomy is Chris Zebroski, mainly because 'Zebs' and I both live in Swindon and so regularly travel to training and matches together.

As for Monday's game, the game finished 0-0 after the initial 80 minutes. Luck was on our side though, as we won 5-4 on penalties to take the points. I don't know who made the rules though because even if you lose you can still pick up points..... riiiiiiiiggghhhhhht. Come again???? Never mind.....

After the game we returned to the hotel for a bit of food and relaxation. Someone told me the food was different down here than the rest of England and they were right as the potatoes were boulder like! Overall though we can't complain too much. We travelled down safely, got a result and are ticking over everyday just nicely.

Hopefully tomorrow though it will be a bit more sunny!

Youngy
