AFC Wimbledon fans must be sick of the sight of Matt Harrold.

The no.9 followed up his hat-trick in last season's FA Cup first round triumph in November with the winner in the club's pre-season opener against the Blue Square Premier outfit on Saturday.

Harrold was one of 10 changes at half-time in Surrey, as Blues boss Peter Taylor continued his plan of using two teams when possible in pre-season friendlies.

The 24-year-old's goal came on 76 minutes when he latched onto a nice through ball from new signing Lewis Montrose before rounding the Wombles' 'keeper and slotting into an empty net.

Harrold told Wanderers World: "I seem to score every time I come here! It's obviously nice to get a goal.

"The important thing though is to get your sharpness and fitness, but I suppose goals do help your confidence."

"It's good to be back and to be out there, and although I know it doesn't matter too much it's good to get a win. We know there are things to work on but so far so good."

Matt Harrold's full Wanderers World interview will be available in full on Monday morning.
