TAYLOR READY FOR RETURN

Peter Taylor has revealed his squad are eagerly anticipating their return to action at the weekend.

Wanderers start their pre-season schedule away at newly promoted Blue Square Premier side AFC Wimbledon at 3pm on Saturday.

Kingsmeadow will once again play host to the clash between the two sides that did battle in last season's first round of the FA Cup.

A Matt Harrold hat-trick and Matt Phillips' first ever senior goal handed the Blues a 4-1 triumph on that November night and the Blues boss says his players are once again raring to go for the game in Surrey.

He told wwfc.com: "The players are looking forward to playing matches again.

"It's a tougher fixture than we would usual have to start pre-season, but it's great opposition, at a good ground and in front of good fans. It's a good fixture."

Regarding injury news for the pre-season opener, right-back Lewis Hunt is the only absentee for the clash with Taylor confirming he is struggling with a foot injury.
